Being a photographer in Jackson, Michigan, you know I just have to take some pictures of my own children downtown. I love the atmosphere downtown, and especially the Bright Walls murals.

I recently had the pleasure of taking family portraits for the Mitchell family. The Leanne already has two daughters and now they are expecting their first boy, so we made sure to get a couple “maternity” poses. Sparks Park is a beautiful park to do any portrait session. It’s a huge park with many scenic locations, so there’s sure to be variety. My favorite location had to be right by the water as the sun was setting. If you’re looking to plan your next family portrait session, I would love to set up a consultation. Whether you want your photos taken at the Cascades, or somewhere else, I am happy to help. Contact me to get started planning your photography session.

Since becoming a portrait photographer, I find that I have more images of everybody else than I do of my own family. The #michaelschallenge has been making its rounds on the internet, so I decided to hop on the Bandwagon. Why not? Especially after Michael’s themselves endorsed it on Facebook! It’s not anything I ever would have thought to do on my own. But it really was a fun way to step outside the box! Children’s Portraits at Arborland Michael’s – Esther and Mae – #MichaelsChallenge I traveled to the Arborland Michael’s store (located off 23 at the edge of Ann Arbor) to photograph Esther and Mae. These two little girls had a blast exploring the store, as did I. This challenge really helped me look at products in a whole new light, and I had to keep myself from buying everything I saw! The girls were definitely on my side. They wanted what seemed like everything! Have you tried the #michaelschallenge? Do you want to? Contact me to set up your own session in Jackson or Ann Arbor!
